Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) is a research, medical, and service institute affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Established through an Egyptian-German agreement in 1964 and inaugurated in 1978, it specializes in schistosomiasis, gastroenterology, liver, kidney, and urinary tract diseases. Named after German physician Theodor Bilharz, it includes 20 research departments, a 307-bed hospital, clinics, research units, and excellence centers.
